Coach Fine, who has been monitoring the American educational scene for years, has collected his syndicated columns and organized them in book form. The opinions are for the most part obvious and orthodox even though he certainly shows a Willingness to keep up with the times (writing on the new math--""since Sputnik, we've sprung alive"" he doesn't mention that a good many youngsters didn't). The subject areas covered here are practically all inclusive, from reading and writing on to homework, grades, test scores, enrichment programs, acceleration, study habits teachers and teaching methods, and of course college right up from admissions to financing.... It's an all purpose book for the family bookshelf and it will probably land there via a Jiffy bag.
