Well- unless you marry an orphaned only child-you've got them, and the chances are that you'll be one-so for that wide potential Dr. Duvall has assembled her own statistics based on a pilot study and some extensive interviewing. The results here, when analysed, would refute the prejude and prejudgment of most stereotypes, and while there are some common belittling-to-bitter complaints, there are even more compliments. Attitudes toward mothers-in-law (women rather than men are resentful) and how it feels to be one, towards other members of the family; the changes in our society (and the smaller living units) and resultant changes in conventions; how to be an in-law-and how to become a better one, all this is part of a study which uses a basis of facts for prevalent feelings, and ill-feelings, and that also makes its recommendations for happier group living.
