PARENTS DESERVE TO KNOW

So many books for parents are written as though only college graduates have children, and even they should be at least amateur psychologists. Not so, with Dr. Jones, who kept before him all kinds of families when he wrote this book. He is a great comfort to those many, many people concerned with problems of growth and development, of the danger of delinquency, and of the opportunity all parents have of helping shape the lives of their children according to God's plan. By breaking down the book into a series of interesting, almost conversational essays, each of which can be read in five minutes, Dr. Jones has shown his appreciation of the fact that many parents have to do their reading in snatches. His gift of illustration enlivens every page. He has enriched his personal experience as a parent of five sons by enlisting two hundred couples whose practical experience guides the book's contents. Although Dr. Jones writes as a Protestant Christian minister, his broad sympathies make it a useful volume to any American parent. Even though the book is aimed at parents, it could also be used wisely with youth groups, or, with the right teacher, with seniors in the Sunday School. This volume is a natural for giving to new parents.
