Taking for his subject animals, birds, fish, (arctic and tropical), primitive and civilized man, Crile has studied the organs controlling energy, (heart, brain, thyroid, adrenal gland, etc.), recorded influences such as hot and cold, environment, domestication, to account for the varying ""intelligence, power, and personality"", in animals and man. His conclusion is that the variation in the size of the energy organs alone determines the intelligence and power of the breed or race. Not a book for the layman, as you can see.
