More of the same, as Dr. Read who introduced his crusade for natural childbirth in Childbirth Without Fear re-stated it in The birth of a Child (Vanguard- 1950), again propounds the method by which ""natural motherhood... may be attained and maintained"". The cycle of pregnancy, the growth of the embryo, the onset of labor and its stages, the delivery, and after care of mother and child, has a physiological coverage and an emotional conditioning which will eliminate all pain and discomfort. There's nothing new here, but Dr. Read approaches his old material with the same zealous elan.
