WHAT IS COMMUNISM? by Dr. Grayson- Intro. by Kirk

Email this review

Designed for wide circulation, here is a picture history of Communism, past and present, that illustrates and illuminates its origin, its many faces and the varying appeals it has for people the world over. The general remarks by Dr. Kirk, of Columbia University, contribute to the definition of Communism's role today. The following wellarranged series of pictures and accompanying texts have been edited by Richard M. Ketchum, Will Anderson and Ruth Traurig, and their chapter by chapter arrangement of material has a cumulative force that appeals to reason and is graphically convincing of the evils of the doctrine. A dozen sections in all deal with the many aspects of Communism. The inclusion of substantial historical data- from Marx's day to the making of a modern satellite- is good, and the extensive collection of photographs, which have been integrated with the text, add a visual background to the facts.
