KIRKUS REVIEW

With Mars' proximity to Earth a major astronomical event soon to come, this and other similar volumes should come in for their share of attention. It is a good popular guide, written clearly yet with enough detail to stimulate and the text covers Mars and theories of Mars in their many aspects. Physical aspects, canals, relative position, origin etc.- these make interesting topics and lend themselves to an interpretation of the universe in its larger aspects too.
