KIRKUS REVIEW

A surprise packet that ranges from trifles to treasure selects choice pieces from the past thirteen issues of The Saturday Book and displays its finds handsomely, in black and white, and many full colored plates. It juxtaposes postcards with Cellini, monuments with match boxes; furniture, architecture, paintings, prints, pottery, embroidery, china, glass, cameos, shells, butterflies, fishing flies, are part of the miscellany. A veritable glory hole of frivolous, even fatuous, lovely and gimcrack (mostly) English exhibits should thoroughly capture that avid audience of acquisitors which is curious about the hoardings of others, for it will find much here to linger over, to comment on, to covet and to be amused by. A very nice gift item, too.
