PASTORAL PSYCHOLOGY IN PRACTICE

For a number of years this treatise of Father Demal's has been recognized as an invaluable aid to German Catholic priests and educators in their work with individuals, and this English translation should be welcomed by their American colleagues. The book is designed to give to those responsible for the cure of souls an understanding of the human personality in the light of the insights of psychology. The author deals first with the differences in the psychic condition and needs of people as they progress in their spiritual life. The major part of the book deals with the psychology of types, in which the distinctions between people according to age, occupation, and personal disposition are set forth. The last section of the book deals with psychopathic and neurotic disorders which priests are apt to encounter. A good text book for Catholic seminarians.
