Bartholomew Cubbins, he of the 500 Hats and a long time favorite, has more adventures in this sequel. The story of how he became a courtier in the kingdom of Didd is well known to radio fans and there'll be an eager audience waiting for this new story-and a good tale it is, though funnier to children than to adults. For it is a story of how the court magicians attempted to please the king, bored with the weather, by producing a new substance, called ooblack, which inundates the kingdom and results in nonsensical misadventures. Just how the king gets rid of it is a bit on the silly side, but that wont worry Bartholomew's friends.
