KIRKUS REVIEW

A rather awkwardly written book about men and ships from the clipper days to today. The emphasis is One America and runs from McKay to Cokerell with a final section of miscellany. It emphasizes the perseverance of the shipbuilders as well as describing the ships themselves. The older stories are treated more fully and more interestingly elsewhere, and the information on such innovations as the hover craft is annoyingly vague.
