I had fun with this- particularly as my feminine logic persuaded me that the actually hen-pecked man is discreetly silent, and that he who is loudest in his invectives of the little woman, is most independent of males. Some people- the unmarried- will find the opening chapters a bit too much of a muchness. But once he gets going on his gardening adventures and misadventures, it is a delightful change from the serious minded garden books of the Garden Book Supplement. (Hence its inclusion here.) Lots of good information -- decked out as humorous play on serious problems. But, on looking back, you've read sound stuff on most phases of a garden.
