STRANGE DIFFERENCES: Clarifying Confusion Between ""Cousins"" of the Animal Kingdom

Not strange differences so much as workaday distinctions between close animal relatives--the rabbit and the hare, the dolphin and the porpoise, the kangaroo and the wallaby, the duck and the goose, the monkey and the ape. . . . Fenten keeps up an easy conversational style, but for someone who sets out to clear up confusion, he tends to be a bit muddled himself. The Spanish word for lizard is lagarto, not largato like it says here. And Fenten's separation of turtles and tortoises is obsolete, at least in America where turtle is now an accepted designation for all shelled reptiles. A little clarification is a dangerous thing.
