KIRKUS REVIEW

.....will and do when Mrs. Ryan, recently wed at 62, does not return from a European trip to her home in the Cumbrian wilds of North England. First and loudest is her sister, bent on proving Col. Ryan is a murderer, for he too is vanished. His nephew, certain his uncle is innocent, backtracks on the continental travels while Supt. Kempson fans the home fires to an equally clearing blaze. Shrewd on the dirty work.
