QUEEN VICTORIA'S MR. BROWN

As far as I know, the only biography of the remarkable Highlander, ghillie at Balmoral, and boon companion to the queen. Tisdall traces his life history, his devotion to the queen, his antipathy to ""Bertie"", the basis of the gossip, which he felt had roots in Victoria's feeling that Brown was a link with the Prince Consort, and the impounding of Brown's papers on his death. Interesting reading -- controversial.
