DESIGN AND FIGURE CARVING by E. J. Tangerman

DESIGN AND FIGURE CARVING

By

Publisher: Whittlesey

This is a book for enthusiasts, not for beginners. A book for study not for reading. Comprehensive in scope, dealing with every aspect of the subject, from the historical survey, to lessons in anatomy and design. It is technical, but progressively so, starting with simplest principles and building to the more complicated, but the author presupposes previous knowledge and real talent. It teaches, not how to be a woodcarver, but how to be a better woodcarver. A book for a highly specialized market, for art schools and art students, and for those who read and enjoyed Whittling and Woodcarving, by the same author, to which this is a good sequel.
