THE MAYOR ON HORSEBACK

No mystery -- no adventure, but semi-character, semi- light love. The story of a self-made man, a politician who has never known the lighter side of life, never known women nor social graces, and of how revolution and reformation woke up the other side of his nature, through his rescue of a lady in distress. An accident crushes the mayor -- but at last he is persuaded to come back into public life, and the secretary who has loved him all the time, has her chance. Average tale, but with the Oppenheim name stands a better chance than otherwise. Good background and detail.
