KIRKUS REVIEW

This has the aroma of the barrel, for it lacks the freshness and pace of Oppenheim's recent comeback. However, the old true and tried Riviera background is there, and there's an eccentric millionaire who experiments almost once too often with strange herbs, and a crook of a lawyer, a frightened niece, and a romantic stranger who opportunely arrives at the psychological moment. There's a romance and a happy ending.
