Here is the third part of the findings of the Institute of Human Relations, of which two sections were reported Nov. 15th, page 583. Once again, the method is pedantic -- the reading appeal limited to those interested in relief work, welfare work, etc. This volume is case study of the psychological effect of unemployment on the families, on their social relations, and in spite of the rather colorless reporting, the sympathetic understanding of the complexities of the situations shine through. This is no superficial survey, but a thorough study of all aspects of each case -- and the result, a conviction that there can be no general classification, no hard and fast conclusion.
