KIRKUS REVIEW

When a celebrity spinster turns up missing and is presumed dead, relatives arrive and gasp out (without the much touted British reserve) hints of how well hated she was to neighbors who mull, muse and puzzle over it right through a second murder. Only the local constabulary seems gainfully employed in this cottage world of gentry, but even they must wait (with the reader) for one of the lower classes to go berserk and thus reveal what little there is of all.
