A curious baffler this, with a gimmick that seems so obvious one wonders why it hasn't been used more often -- blentical twins, and the possibilities inherent in their serving to provide alibis for each other. Slick and well-sustained, the interest focusses more intensely on the new wife of one of the twins confronted with the existence of the other in an unpredictable way -- and what it does to her relations with her husband when his twin is found murdered. Plenty of complications develop but Forrars with accustomed facility draws all his threads together in a tidy whole. Not too British.
