THE SNOWDEN-DOUGLASS SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSONS FOR 1950

While many Protestant Sunday Schools are using graded lessons, probably more of them still employ the ""uniform lessons"", that is, lessons with the same material for all ages. For teachers in such schools the commentary prepared annually for many years by Dr. Snowden and latterly by Dr. Douglass has proven itself an indispensable tool. As many of the Sunday Schools using this curriculum material are small and located in communities where teacher-training facilities are limited the book is in great demand. For 1950 the lessons for the first quarter deal with the early Christian Church; those of the second quarter with the Old Testament prophets; those of the third quarter with great men and women of the Bible, and those of the fourth quarter with practical problems of ""growing in Christian living."" For each lesson there is provided a commentary on the Biblical text, and hints for teachers as to ways of using the material most effectively. This is a thoughtfully and thoroughly prepared work. While not biased doctrinally, it is truly evangelical.
