KIRKUS REVIEW

A magazine buildup (Life, Collier's, Time) popular and bestselling in Japan, this is no literary event but has interest in its picture of American-Japanese relations. This is the international, obstacled romance of correspondent Kent Wood for the Japanese actress, Tamiko, and the troubles attendant on such ""fraternization"". Kent decides that marriage is not impossible, but Tamiko's studio decides differently. When Kent is involved in a murder, Tamiko gives up her career to be a witness and an alibi for him. Kent is released, and their honeymoon is further brightened by Tamiko's chance at stardom because of her selfless gesture.... Rentals presumably.
