Methodical investigating by sharp thinking, acting Lt. Dickerson who is sent from Hartford to Sudwich to untangle two murders connected with the return of a mutilated Pacific veteran. Through a plastic surgeon and the local police, Dickerson uncovers the many interrelated actions and timing, means and method, and the complex relationships of those involved, and makes a garrison finish to the case. Complicated but fair.
