KIRKUS REVIEW

Pursued lady, when Emily, who had been to Germany with the Red Cross, and who had married Carl from a prison camp, loses her husband in an explosion in his laboratory, is threatened by a pair of her husband's former partners. Guarded by the police and chaperoned by a useful young man, Emily makes a car trip to California, learns the truth of her husband's activities and the pattern of murders and betrayals. Smooth.
