KIRKUS REVIEW

Central core of good problems in this slangy, breezy baseball yarn of a boy who faces a decision between baseball in the big league, or more education. High School Senior, Marty Ferris, is a glamor guy. An offer of a contract with the Yankees conflicts with his father's determination that he go on to college. Before he reaches his decision, the reader has a lot of baseball and ball players, High School and pro. On that score, the book is surely popular. One could wish for better writing, and fewer corny jokes.
