KIRKUS REVIEW

The author imparts informative material about this fascinating area of the world in a newsy conversational style. Children meet Bessie and Elijah, two Eskimo children who take them to Inuvik, their town. There they learn Eskimo games and songs, see an Eskimo school, and an igloo, and participate in the spring carnival. This most interesting diversion is inserted in general descriptions of Arctic weather and geography, equally interesting. ""If you visit, be careful of sunburn and bees"", comes as surprise warning. Pronunciation and translation keys conclude this.
