The Gifford Lectures for 1935-1936 delivered by the Bishop of Durham. Bishop Henson says he chose the subject because there are so many who hear and read the lectures besides the students to whom they are usually addressed that he wanted a subject that would be the concern of every man. He certainly found it and has dealt with it in a most thorough and adequate manner. While everyone may not agree with the good Bishop on every point -- for he has very definite opinions -- it is a stimulating and interesting book, one that can neither be ignored or missed.
