An annual, and a useful one; this volume covers September 30, 1941 to September 1942, an accurate, well-coordinated, eminently readable history of the war. From a wealth of available material on the facts of events, a book such as this may well stand as a permanent record, though we shall have to wait until after the war, to know what pulled the strings. Chronological arrangement makes it valuable as a quick reference book. The period spanned was a year of delay, disappointment, bitter surprises but marks a turning point.
