LARRY

An approach to responsibility, with only slight undertones of religion as a factor, in a story of two small boys-second graders- and a situation that carries real appeal. Larry's grandmother had been an early settler in Oklahoma; she had gone to an Osage Indian mission school; and she loaned Larry and his Osage friend, Chesty, a box of rare Indian arrows for a school exhibit. What happens when the most valuable arrow of all is lost -- and Larry's internal struggle to confess his fault- provides a story with a lesson that is handled in matter of fact, realistic fashion.
