TEEN-AGE MANUAL by Edith Heal Kirkus Star

TEEN-AGE MANUAL

By

Publisher: Simon & Schuster

A gay common denominator teen-age manual dealing with the topics on which every normal High School youngster wants to be painlessly posted. The approach is traditional, the coverage reasonably comprehensive, the breakdown into topics satisfactory for what the title defines as its purpose- a ""manual"" on how to be a successful teen-age girl. Not that there aren't hints for boys, too, but the approach, the topics covered are distinctly on the distaff side:- dress correctly in good taste, behave in accepted manner at the movies, at school affairs, on private dates; advice on hair-do's, makeup, smoking, drinking, petting; on how to give a party, how to answer invitations, and so on. Some sound advice on interests to develop, clubs to organize, how to get along with the family.
