JESSE'S BOOK OF CREOLE AND DEEP SOUTH RECIPES

The d'oeuvres, hors and otherwise, of a famous chef-Jesse, who has achieved fame for the Ballard family table, are here given a more permanent presentation and provide a festive collection of real epicurean elegance. The dishes, for the most part, are specialties- for special occasions (even possum and terrapin) but Jesse also has a way with hamburgers, for the less enterprising cook. On the whole, however, this is a luxury cookbook - to dazzle- and to delight- and is hostess rather than hausfrau styled. It also demands an experienced hand and an open pocketbook.
