EDITH KEY HAINES' COOK BOOK

This makes the umpty umpt cookbook this year, and I still found it fascinating and copied a round dozen of recipes I simply had to have, and looked hungrily at some others. Nothing particularly original about contents or arrangement, but just stimulating to the imagination and the gastric juices. Sometimes I felt that the author assumed too much on the part of the cook, taking for granted an understanding of processes and terms which would make this book not very practicable for the novice.
