THE THREE GUARDSMEN: And Other Stories from the Apocrypha

The outside books of the Old Testament- known today as the Apocrypha, were originally part of Christian Bibles, and today are coming more and more into current awareness. Stories from these apocryphal books help fill the 400 year gap between the Old and the New Testaments, and here are some of those stories, retold for children. In many instances familiar figures such as Daniel and Susanna and Esther reappear in unfamiliar stories. And the deeds of ingenuity, of course, of daring, rooted in firm belief in the One God, are again made available for young Christians and Jews. Mrs. Meyer has done a real service.
