MACGREGOR WAS A DOG

To pretend that you are what you are not is one of the first jokes small children try out among themselves and before adults. It is also a joke that they will often encounter in books published especially for them. MacGregor is one of the simplest of these and follows the adventure of a skinny hound who had an ambition to become an ostrich. He dons a hot pink ostrich suit and winds up encaged at the zoo. The book reinforces the point that you're better off being yourself, the text is made up of captions that underline four color line cartoons and the result is a mildly amusing picture book for the shortest attention spans.
