This is a beautiful book -- fine photographs, excellent reproduction of color work, picturing the A.A.F. in action, done by Lt. John McCoy, Jr., a combination of factual information and the drama and poetry and beauty of air power. The opening section deals with training: one gets the feel of personnel as well as of successive steps. Then follow sections of different types of planes, and the man who make up their crews, -- bomber, fighter, cargo planes, sliders, training planes, liaison, observation. Photographs of leaders and brief biographical captions, silhouettes for recognition purposes, and end papers showing insignis make this a rounded picture book of the Army Air Force.
