KIRKUS REVIEW

A small segment here of the cattlemen versus the homesteaders end of the nineteenth century struggles in the Wyoming-Montana border country. Young Tom O and his father arrive in ""Trouble Country"" to homestead. They meet Link Stevens and with him enter into a series of battles and raids that sees the death of Tom's father, but which Link's foresightedness turns into farming-grazing cooperation with their cattlemen enemies and a partnership for himself and Tom. A bit of a romance too.
