SO I WENT TO PRISON

This strikes a new note, in being the story of a woman's prison, from the angle of a personal experience. A well-bred young woman engaged in brokerage business, was enmeshed in some unsavory bits in 1929 and was convicted of grand larceny. She went to jail -- dazed, but with chin up. And she served for a year. This has none of the morbidity of the average inside prison story. The picture on the whole is a not unpleasant one. It includes some strange friendships, a near-riot, physical combats, one case of stabbing -- but she made warm friends and came out with chin still up. A human document of unusual interest.
