KIRKUS REVIEW

The first thoroughgoing American atlas to be published in 34 years"" to be compared with Paullin's Atlas of the Historical Geography of the United States, according to the publishers. There are 210 newly commissioned maps in from three to five colors, 150 historical illustrations and maps, a 60,000-word narrative to complement and caption them. Maps range from the Ice Age to the Nuclear Space Age, charting the geographic course of American history chronologically. Sociological data is also included.
