A gentle, graceful and distinctly disarming family piece which is unimportantly nice to read. There is the mother, Eugenia Person, trying to have a wedding day for Mary, but perturbed inwardly by all the members of her family: -- Jack, who may be on Carregider, Phyllis, who leaves her husband and arrives with the baby, announcing that she had never actually gone through the marriage ceremony because she distrusted marriage; there is Mary's disappearance to meet a first and more affection; and there are the unresolved factors between and Andrew, as had lived too intensely in a dead son, and Andrew had turned to another woman. Happy endings all found, bordering on light comedy. Appealing and refreshing. And rare today.
