KIRKUS REVIEW

The best verse for us in this collection of illustrated nonsense rhymes was . . . ""I know an oyster whose friends are awhirl. He discovered a person inside a pearl."" Erik Blegvad's meticulous black and white pen sketches of animals with foibles and eccentricities are amusing. However there are a number of animals mentioned but not pictured, unfamiliar to most children.
