TIM AND LUCKY GO TO SEA

Another adventure with Edward Ardizzone's little Tim. This time Tim lands near the home of wealthy Mr. Grimes and his foster child Lucy. Explaining that he is shipwrecked, Mr. Grimes obligingly purchases a boat, and, just like that, they all take off to sea. Tim furnishes the crew, and it is only Mrs. Smawley, the straightbacked housekeeper, who takes a somewhat dim view of the nautical exploit. Nevertheless, when a crisis comes, it is Mrs. Smawley's celebrated British pluck which saves the ship and leads her to resign from the ranks of landlubbers. A preposterous, wonderful picture adventure written with absolute conviction that sufficient unto the situation is the nonsense thereof. Re-written and redrawn from an earlier Tim book.
