KIRKUS REVIEW

A so-so career book about a camera fan who works his way up from camera carrier to topnotch photographer for the slicks. There are no surprises in this -- just one shutter click after another as our hero gets impossible, dangerous assignments and comes through with dripping negatives. The technical details about lenses, films, exposures, etc., might have been put across without making Bob Lane appear so silly, and, more importantly, the characterization is too thin and the story line too weak and episodic to interest the teen-ager who doesn't happen to be camera-conscious.
