THE DOG'S EAR BOOK

Author and illustrator of the unspeakable Molesworth (Down With Skool!, etc.) present a jaundiced view of the cult of the canine and write about and sketch the horrible examples of dog domination where ""man is the mutt..."" Types of dogs, their history, training, two-and four-footed resemblances, the campaigns that have made dog the master of man, dog shows, weekends with dogs, beagling, etc., etc., are the targets for a British blow-off. There are some verses to underline the thesis here and Searle's squirly, lugubrious drawings are a delight -- for those who have no best friends in this area. Amusing.
