KIRKUS REVIEW

Predictable market for this hardy perennial, though it seemed a bit less good reading than some of its predecessors. There are many unfamiliar names and many familiar ones (H.E. Bates, Eric Knight, Ethel Mannin, Howard Spring, and others). There's a marked regional stamp, Ireland, Wales and rustic England. There's more fine writing than good story telling.
