LADYBIRDS: Women in Aviation

Charles May's Women in Aeronautics pioneered in the field, and this is a poor second; gossipy where the other was professional, garrulous where the other was to the point. It covers famous firsts and major figures from ballooning to the present but May is more comprehensive; he has the further advantage of photographs, a big plus considering the panache of some of the ladies.
