Toads don't give you warts, but the poison on their skin could burn your mouth or eyes. Bats aren't blind, bears don't truly hibernate though they sleep most of the winter, nor are owls especially wise or pigs dirty. Ricciuti devotes a short paragraph or two to about twenty such myths, some more in need of correction than others (does anyone really believe that geese are sillier than their relatives?) and Strong throws in one or more black and white photographs for each species considered.
