THE OTHER AMERICANS by Edward Tomlinson

THE OTHER AMERICANS

By

Pub Date: June 14th, 1943
Publisher: Scribner

Lecturer, analyst, commentator on Americas to the South, here contributes a successful survey of these countries from Mexico to the tip of the continent, plus Cuba, Halti and the Dominican Republic. Yesterday and today in even balance, history and customs and legend, peoples and cities, climate and physiognomy, language and livelihoods, in each case plotting the graph of their individual development, industrial and agricultural. Informative, and at the same time informal in presentation, this is a good background book for the uninitiated, for the prospective traveler, and for use in schools, colleges, study groups. Contains an appendix listing facts and figures. The format is disappointing, the volume is heavy. Excellent type -- but photographic reproduction is not up to today's standards.
