The Decline of the West is one of those books that everyone refers to glibly, but that comparatively few general readers have actually read. Now -- when his prophecies are being born out time and again by events, this book appears, a valuable short cut which will give the reader not only a birdseye view of his main thesis of the predictable curve of cultural history, but will fill in with some degree of completeness, what Spengler wrote on economics and politics. It is one of those works that cry for quoting. Check pages 300-301 for good selling points. The Nazis have used him -- even while they abused him -- for some of their groundwork.
