A bit silly, though amusing in spots, this satire on the subject of dictatorships comes closer to being timely than anything Greenwood has recently done. An old man decides to reform the village he has acquired, making himself dictator and resting on a theory of divine right. But humor gets the better of him and he eventually laughs himself to death at a nudist party. Greenwood has a very special market -- a bit of the Thorne Smith crowd, without the salacious angle.
